We really appreciated the friendly staff here. Maintenance was top notch and the pool was clean and a perfect temperature.

The entire staff, from the front desk to the restaurant staff, were friendly and helpful throughout our three-day stay. Free cookies and popcorn were a nice touch. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed the on-site restaurant and bar, and would definitely stay here again. Thanks SureStay!

Pleasant check in...pretty clean place but I was assigned to Room 178. The closest exit to a parking lot was out of a door where garbage was stacked up, cigarette butts on the ground and evidence of dead leaves and other debris near the door, very clearly had been there for some time. It was dirty and unkempt and well, icky.

This hotel is run down, dirty, janky, and overpriced. I would not recommend staying here.

RIPPED OFF
At first my partner and I were RELIEVED to find a place to stay for the night at the SureStay Best Western. I had been (and still am at the time of review...) fighting an illness and had to have a medical emergency evacuation off of the Amtrak train in Helper, Utah, delaying our trip back home for a day. So there we were, my partner and I, stranded in winter's pitch darkness at 8 PM in the middle of a deserted train station, with no chance of getting an Uber/Lyft to a place.
After we got ready to bunker down for the night on the station's benches, a kind police officer took pity on us and drove us to the closest place that would have a guaranteed room for us: the SureStay Best Western.
It felt like a miracle.
I'd just spent the last few hours puking up my guts, exhausted from several days on the train (I remained double-masked throughout, hand-sanitizing everything I could to prevent any passengers from catching my ill-timed illness), and just wanted to sleep on a horizontal surface that was not an upright train seat nor a station bench. A hotel's mattress was a dream come true. The lovely Danielle greeted us and got us into a room last-minute for a reasonable price. The room itself was neat, clean, fresh-smelling (that'll be important in a moment), and more importantly, had a bed--two, in fact! Heaven.
The only odd thing: During our stay, we did receive a knock on the door from an employee asking if we were smoking (apparently someone in our hallway was). We told the employee that no, it wasn't us (neither one of us having ever touched a cigarette). The employee left and we resumed our business. No problem, mistakes happen, and smells can be hard to trace.
My partner and I ended up paying for two nights: January 1st (Happy New Year to us...) when we checked in at 8 PM for $135.79 for two queen-sized beds, and January 2nd, for the same exact room.
Even though we were leaving on January 2nd at 6 PM for our shuttle back to the train station and wouldn't be staying for the night, we still paid for the second night because check-out was at noon and our train wouldn't arrive until 8 PM. So, we figured, if we had to buy a room for another night for a few extra hours so I could have the luxury of puking in private instead of out in the hotel lobby, so be it. I have no complaints about that. We bit the bullet and paid for the second night. Come 6 o'clock PM at January 2nd (well before we would've needed to check out on the 3rd at noon), we check out at the front desk, and board our shuttle to the train station for the last stretch home.
End of story.

If that was it, I'd be leaving a 5-star review, no question. Instead...
My partner and I finally came home on the 3rd, me still sick as a dog and them getting sick, to find that SureStay had charged us AGAIN for the large sum of $385.79.
If the first night was only $135~, how was the second more than double that?!
Assuming the room for the 2nd night was roughly the same price as the 1st, $385-$135 = $250. When I called the hotel on the 3rd at around 6:35 PM, they said that the extra cost was for a smoking fee.
Note: Again, I have been coughing and puking my guts out for over 48 hours at that point, and would be in no condition to smoke (nor have I ever smoked in my life), and my partner has asthma, which, as you likely know, is easily irritated by smoke (so they have never smoked in their life).
We explained this to the hotel employee, who said that two workers had come by our room and "smelled evidence of smoke" after cleaning our room. We left those rooms PRISTINE. My mom worked as a cleaner since she was 15 and ingrained in me to never make anyone's day worse by leaving a mess behind, especially one that could be so easily cleaned up. We straightened the bed sheets, threw our trash away in the proper bins, collected the used towels in one spot neatly in the bathroom, and did a second look to make sure we didn't leave any personal belongings behind. Check, check, and cheeeck~
Nowhere, before or during our stay, were there any cigarette butts, vapes, or anything else--nor would they be, since again, WE DO NOT SMOKE.
The hotel employee on the phone said I'd have to call again on Monday to talk with a manager.
Then comes Monday, the 6th. I call again, and speak to another hotel employee, explaining the issue once more. The employee said their hands are tied, their manager's in a meeting, no idea when they will be done, but they'll call me back ASAP. Okay, fine. Wait for an hour... Nothing.
Call again. Speak to the same employee, who now sheepishly admits that they did talk to their manager, the manager reviewed the file, did not call us back, and would not drop the charge.
On top of riding a train for three days, getting emergency evac'ed for medical reasons, and just feeling lousy in general, the last thing my partner and I needed was a $250 fine for something neither one of us even did.
What a start to a new year...

Ma'am as I have previously stated on the Google review you left. It was investigated by multiple employees, one of which was the Maintenance Manager, and validated that the smell originated from your room not from the hallway. You signed an agreement that if you violated our no smoking policy you would be charged. We take no pleasure in charging you the fee but we have to ensure our policies are adhered to. I, as the AGM, also spoke to you about this on the phone.
