Lovely hotel, staff and food. Bellisimo!

Beautiful hotel, best bit is the roof top terrace where you can have a drink and look at views of the city, it was really warm when we arrived and sitting on the roof was a lovely experience, the buffet breakfast up there was lovely, great variety of cooked food, pastries, yoghurt,fruit every compote you could imagine, pancake machine, coffee and juice machine and the finest cold meats and cheeses. Was definitely a hilight of mine. Our room was basic, get what you pay for I guess,but it was clean and maid came everyday. Staff were lovely and helpful especially roof waiting staff who when bringing your drinks to you ( table service ) with such etiquette and serving with a bowl of crisps,was a lovely touch.
The entrance to hotel off a lovely quite street is very elegant and luxurious looking with reception area.
Would highly recommend this hotel also for the area, it is quiet but with plenty of restaurants/ cafes near by and walking distance to trevi fountain is roughly 20/ 25 minutes.

Whenever I come to Rome I stay in this same hotel as it's become my go-to in Rome period the breakfast buffet is outstanding and one of the best views in Rome.I enjoy the character of the hotel and the staff has always been most kind and helpful. This time I had accidentally only had a reservation for two nights when I needed three and they graciously gave me a room for the third night. I would highly recommend this hotel it's also in a very nice neighborhood with many restaurant choices .

MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS.

Text: Very disappointed with our room. We booked and paid for a junior suite shown on the website, I wish we hadn't bothered. We initially was shown to what was a tiny, very very dated wedged shaped bedroom with a slot of a window tucked in near the door, basically the room was virtually all walls, and the suite area was laughable, an old sofa next to the entrance door, it was depressing. I went straight back down to reception and spoke to an older lady. I was very polite, and showed her the picture of the room we booked from the website. Her body language and demeanor said it all. Reception treated me differently after this, and if they reply, im sure will deny. We was then offered the one and only remaining suite, which was similar to the website, of which we had no choice but to accept given they said it was the only other one. The room was better, although the bathroom stank of drains and damp. The view out of our windows and balcony, was into an internal slum, courtyard area, which was dark and had washing lines hanging below the opposite windows, which were full all day, every day. The rooftop view was nice, breakfast was average, tinned fruit, and some real fruit, had to ask every day for streaky bacon to be brought out. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years, and considering what we paid, this one is average at best. To sum up, if you are considering booking this hotel, you need to manage your expectations.

Excellent Hotel

Well situated for access to all parts of Rome yet not noisy. Excellent breakfast choices and delightful strong coffee. Staff are extremely helpful , recommending places of interest . Wonderful roof top bar / restaurant with excellent views over Rome.

Great experience at the Marcella Royal

Me and my missus came here from Monday the 31st of March to today the 4th of April, in fact I'm writing this as we await our pick up!
The hotel itself is beautiful, very well maintained, I had booked a superior room which I highly recommend, it had a great bathroom, shower pressure excellent, great complimentary products, beds very comfy, the storage was fantastic as I like to fully unpack and put things away
The breakfast has a really varied range, with hot and cold food available, juices, and any tea and coffee you can think off
The staff is what I feel bring the hotel up another notch, always really friendly, helpful and knowledgeful, nothing is a hassle
If I had one small down point is the rooftop bar with payment, one day it was OK to pat cash if had the correct money which is all fine but the next it said card only, many tourists like myself don't like to use their cards abroad and change their money pre hand so it accepting cash fluently would be better, buy this in noway hindered the hotel overall
