On an adventure with your dog
Our days were filled with adventure! In Valkenburg we visited Mergelrijk, the Velvet Cave, the Castle Ruin and the Municipal Cave. All special places with a unique atmosphere and a touch of history. In addition, we have walked beautifully on the Bemelerberg, maria and visited the Three Borders Point.
A trip to Germany was also a must! In addition to great food, I also shopped at DM, Woolworth and KiK. We also went to Tierpark Alsdorf, where you can go for 4 euros. Your dog can come along and you can buy bags of food and eat the animals out of your hand.
It was the perfect mix of nature, history and shopping.

A nightmare experience
We booked via Airbnb through the host Belvilla, by a person called Daniela. It was so difficult to receive answers for our questions before arrival, the response was automated standard . Was not even possible to call, always receiving the message to call the hotel, even though she is the listed host on Airbnb.
The most shocking was when she asked for extra payments which were not listed on the description. We complained to Airbnb but nevertheless the hotel blackmail us after the arrival by blocking the key to our accommodation. we had to pay additional more than 200 euros to have again access.
Than we had problems with the heating, 2 times complained, both time they couldn't fix it. Imagine the comfort inside with negative temperatures outside and no heating.
Maintenance was not a priority in the hotel

Scandalous cottage

Never mind that beautiful stay.....
In the cottage I took a bath.
The bubble system in the tub wasn't working.
The holes were so clogged that the water squirted out above the bath water....
The next morning there was also a terrible stench coming from the drain of the bath.
Of course the stop wasn't there because I had been in it last night...
Last night it was closed....I see now why...
Last night there were brownish splatters/drops and later bigger ones on the counter. Thought I'd tampered or not thought about it.
This morning again.... taken off again....when I looked more and bigger....
When I looked up I saw a big brown rust stripe on the ceiling and when I looked closely also around the spot!!There was a big leak!
Seriously, hole damn it!
I packed up and checked out.
I also reported this to the reception and did not feel taken seriously at all!
I think € 209,00 for such a stay is really outrageous!
Cottage number 6! I would definitely not book this one!
The settlement/reaction to this is also scandalous.
I didn't get a call.
Even after an email with the above story.
Had to call myself and still have to be called back....
Aren't you supposed to pick this up ASAP?
