Hibird Apartment
I'd like to start with saying how great the staff were. Anything we asked for was handled immediately if within their ability. They always had a welcoming smile and were quick to help with suggestions for the area.
The accommodation's location was very good and close to the beach (2 min walk) where you could get a umbrella and lounger included). There isn't any mid week cleaning service, but we were all adults and keep a tidy area anyway.
Here is the downside, there was full on construction of 2 buildings next door. It was not disclosed when we reserved (it was obvious it wasn't unknown) they started at 7am everyday, even Sat, Sun and bank holiday Monday - Presidents Day) we had hoped for a quite weekend at least. There were 5 of us and had the 3 bedroom penthouse suite. The kitchen had the absolute bare minimum of supplies. It's good to note that the pull out couch bed was not a bed, it was a short futon and the upholstery was very dirty. we laid sheets on it to sit. The area rug had very bad stains as well. it would be a good idea if the hotel hung a room darkening curtain in the living area as the 2 friends in that room where up very early every day due to sun.
The balcony with hot tub needs a step stool to get in and out, we improvised. The lounge chairs supplied were covered in mold and we would sit on them. I had already, mentioned the construction of the new apartment building next door which was loud from 7am to 6pm, making it rather unpleasant to be out there during working hours.
Getting around was incredibly easy by Uber and cost effective. Food was a bit pricey on the island overall. Again the staff was amazing and they don't have any control of condition of the furniture, which was beyond disappointing. The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable though. The living room furniture and dining chairs were very uncomfortable.

Excellent and highly recommend
Excellent service. Room was clean and had everything you need for your stay. Unfortunately the swimming pool was out of use but complimentary use of a sunbed and towels was available at the local beach 5 minutes away. You need to request a room ‘clean’ (bed made and fresh towels) otherwise it is not done.

My boyfriend and I took a trip at the end of January to get away from the cold. We stayed at HiBird and loved it! We arrived a few hours before check in and they let us drop our bags while we got a drink down the street at a bar right on the beach. The location is great, one block from the beach where they provide lounge chairs and umbrellas. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance as well. Hector at the front desk was so helpful, whatever we asked about he had a recommendation that was always what we were looking for! Our room was very nice, had a full fridge, a cooktop, and a microwave. The rooftop pool isn’t huge but nice for lounging and cooling off (and if you go up for a late night soak in the hot tub there was a little cat that comes by that is very friendly-I wanted to bring it home!) Every other floor has either laundry or an ice machine. The parking lot is a little tight but there was always a spot for our rental. We plan on making HiBird our choice hotel when we visit San Juan!

We were received by a very attentive employee who made sure we got to our room in the second tower easily. The room is nice, new and clean. Great location. Entrance to the parking area can be easy to miss given the construction next doir

Terrible.
I had a terrible experience at HiBird and Suites Hotel, and I would not recommend staying here. Check-in took an absurd 30 minutes, and then the keys didn’t work. After another 15 minutes of frustration, I finally got working keys—so it took a full 45 minutes to check in! To make matters worse, the hot tub was broken. An engineer came and got it to turn on, but it never heated up, so I couldn’t even enjoy it.
The room was also a huge disappointment. The doors didn’t seal properly, so mosquitos were everywhere, and the noise level was unbearable. It felt like the noise was coming from inside the room, making it impossible to sleep. There was barely any surface space to put anything, and to top it off, the bedding had stains on it. The bathroom slide door was another issue—it slid open right over the outlet, so you can’t use both at the same time. Plus, the door didn’t lock and would randomly slide open.
Lastly, the beach was a huge letdown. It reeked of cigarettes and weed, and I couldn’t find where the hotel provided beach chairs as they had promised. Overall, a very disappointing stay. I won’t be returning.
