On the Rhine
Modern, well-equipped hotel right on the Rhine. The staff is particularly friendly, well-trained and attentive. The restaurant serves good food and the breakfast is also wonderful. The rooms are spacious and have air conditioning.

Pleasant stopover with excellent breakfast
We stayed overnight here half way through a long drive from Rotterdam to the Bregenzer Wald in Austria. The rooms are on two floors, facing outwards across a grassy area. The building is plain and characterless but the rooms are comfortable and fairly spacious, and they are quiet. Reception is only open for limited hours - we had to use a code to pick up our room key from a key box. There is a decent restaurant which has a pleasant outdoor area on the bank of the Rhine. The breakfast is outstanding - a big and varied buffet with lots of choice. The rate we paid was very reasonable. Recommended.

Above expectation!
When booking the photos looked alright, but upon arrival we weren't so sure. The location is a bit dubious and from the road the place didn't look like much. We got a bit apprehensive, but it turned out to be great!
You'll get the key using a code on the key box. It looks kind of like a motel, with rooms on two levels, each door opening onto the patio/garden. There is no central hall with adjacent corridors. The rooms are very spacious and look like they're recently renovated. They are stylishly decorated and have a sort of ocean vibe. Also, they were very clean and fully equipped with everything you might want in a hotel room. Large bed, desk, tv, seating area, spacious wardrobe etc. The bathroom was equally tidy, sizable and clean.
There is a large restaurant, which seems to be one of the most popular in town. We initially wanted to eat in the city centre, but because of the distance we just stayed at the Altes Ruderhaus. Again, we were presently surprised. The outside terrace was really cozy and the food was well prepared. Also, we loved the view over the river and the dock.
Breakfast is served inside the restaurant, but you can also sit outside if you please. The buffet offers lots of options like bread rolls, yogurts, eggs and spreads. Service was great too.
Upon leaving you can return your key at the front desk.
Personally I feel like the only downside is the distance to the city center. Online it says that it is only a 20 minute walk, but the area just doesn't look that inviting. It appears as if the center is really far away and it is not immediately clear which route to take.

A Delightful Surprise
From the street and parking area, this doesn't look like much but the rooms are exceptionally clean, environmentally friendly, the restaurant is very good and the patio sits on the Rhine River. Beautiful setting in the evening and fun to watch the barges traveling up and down the Rhine. Just a hundred yards or so, there is a path to walk along the Rhine with restaurants and shops. Not a difficult distance from exceptional restaurants in town. Highly recommend it.

7 Guys on Motor Bikes
There is free parking at the hotel for motorbikes which is important. Easy check in. Rooms were excellent. Clean, spacious with a great bathroom with shower. The jewel is the location sitting right on the banks of the river. We enjoyed our stop over en route to the Alps from Rotterdam and were most impressed.
